Average lifespan of a highway bridge is about 70 years, provided it is maintained and repaired in time. Thousands of bridges are collapsing every year. 40% of death in accidents are due to bridge collapsing. The life in that location comes to a stand-still with collapsing of a bridge. Normally it takes 3-5 years to rebuild a major bridge.
